Happy Friday we are currently getting super excited for Halloween are you? I sketched this romanic Dia De Los Muertos illustration last week. Halloween and Dia De Los Muertos are right around the corner woot woot woot …couldn’t be more excited.
I’ve always wanted to go to Olvera Street for the Dia De Los Muertos festival. Which runs from the October 25th through November 2nd.
Growing up in a Latin family we didn’t celebrate Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) like you would think. However, I always knew about it and saw the decorated skulls and flower arrangements and knew the meaning behind it. Even did our Halloween costumes as Dia De Los Muertos too. Although we didn’t really celebrate it, we sure always went out for Halloween. Perhaps maybe that’s why we focused solely on one event and made sure we went all out and over the top.
I’m not going to be able to make it to Olvera Street this year I’m so bummed. I’m still working on last minute costume and running around hehe. I also still need to schedule our annual family Halloween pictures ekkkk (such a slacker)…haha. Next year though it’s on. I need to experience this just once. Since I’m so close to Olvera street it would be a total crime to not do it at least once.
Have any of you ever gone to a Dia De Los Muertos festival/ celebration? Did you like it ? Well I better run! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and like always thanks for stopping by and reading my blog.
